Portland is Beautiful...my soon to be home

I just cannot stop thinking about how beautiful the city of Portland is... four months and I will be living there. I don't think I've been this excited in a long time. School will be ending, I will finally be starting my career in a new city, and from that point on life will be taking me on such a beautiful journey! I really cannot wait. For one of the first times in my life I actually feel like I know what I want and I can see it all happening the way it is supposed to happen.

"The purpose of life is to enjoy every moment." ....simply that is what I am doing.

So, it's not halloween yet. But I've already played dress up! An amazing night with some great friends and great costumes. I can't wait to wear my Pink wig again! Halloween is amazing!

San Diego

I was in San Diego this past weekend. I had a great time. My friend invited me to the Chargers/Patriots game...I'm not really a hardcore fan for either team...so I decided to go for the Chargers since everyone I was with was going for the Patriots. I bought a cheap little jersey at Wal*Mart, lol! It was #23 Jammer. Chargers ended up winning and I thought it was great and also hilarious because everyone I was with wanted the Patriots! ha! It was fun. A nice little getaway. I was glad to be back home though. Time to relax and get busy with school!

Hiking in Malibu

Jamie and I have made it our weekly goal to hike somewhere new...it's fun, refreshing, and "oh so pretty!" This week it was Malibu...Liz joined us and it was just the three of us girls...basically alone in the middle of no where. I'm a little retarded and was waiting for a bob cat or mountain lion to jump out at me. But Jamie and Liz kept telling me nothing like that was going to happen. I'm so proud of myself...I'm trying to be more of an outdoor girl. lol. I'm loving it! Next week it's hiking to the HOLLYWOOD sign! woo hoo!

So... we all know that I get super tired very easily...due to my heart condition. Jamie and I decided the other day it was time for a good hike. We went to Runyon Canyon for a nice hike and breathe of fresh air. We both hadn't been before... so we ended up hiking up the way that most people come down. I bet for most people it is easy, for me it was not at all!!!

Jamie was cheering me on and I was having to stop to rest a lot, but I did it and it was amazing. We are now planning on hiking weekly and pretty soon it will be easier for me!

Everyone has their moments...tough ones, and bad days. My whole week has been a bit dull. I do think WAYYY too much sometimes. And, that cannot always be such a great thing. I am usually very positive, so it has been kind of strange that I am feeling down.

I wasn't really searching for anything, but hoping that something would make me think a little differently and raise my head a bit higher.

On the desk at work today was a box of cards. The title said, "Finding your Inner Peace." I opened it up and the first card said :

"Most people are searching for happiness outside of themselves. That's a fundamental mistake. Happiness is something you are and it comes with the way you think."

I thought to myself, it's really just that simple.

It put a smile on my face and that's what I needed...

Summer is Ending

What a crazy year 2008 has been. Summer, especially...it had its ups and downs. Now, thankfully with summer coming to an end, I only can look back and smile about everything that happened. Once I thought it would never end, the craziness, that is. Now, I am only thankful for everything that was forced into my life and handed to me...it's made me such an unbelievably strong woman. I am happy and proud. New relationships have been formed in family, amazing friendships ( new and old) have started to blossom and grow, school is coming to an end, an amazing career is about to start. Life has just been beautiful the last couple months. I am 100% happy, and that feeling of completion is falling into place.

My new roomie, Jamie, is AMAZING. I love her :) How funny that two people can meet on 'craigslist' and form such a fun, great friendship in only one month's time. It's been great.

My best friend from home, Ivory, came to visit. It was a very last minute and tiring trip. But, it was worth it and it was very nice to see "Ives." I miss her so much.

So many kids in my lil family now:) Brandon and Brock, on my Mama's side, are growing like crazy. Brandon is a junior in high school now, still focusing like crazy on Baseball and doing great in school. He now has his license and is loving driving. Lil' Brock is still cute and has the biggest personality I know. He will be 4 in December...growing up so fast :( I love him tons, he makes me want to be a better person everyday.

Megan, Camille, and Zac on my Dad's side, are all growing up as well. Megan is now in 8th grade, Cami is in 6th, and Zac is now a freshman in High school.

My family is beautiful, my friends are amazing, and I am growing and learning everyday.

Back to studying now :)
